Theatre
National Players
As an ensemble member of the National Players I wrote lesson plans and taught workshops on Voice, Movement, Improv, Shakespeare, Stage Combat, and Puppetry to students from ages 6-22. On tour we had to adapt to many variables when including available space, support level of teacher/authority figure at the venue, and the interest, experience level, and demographic of the students.
James Madison University
Viewpoints Workshop
Within JMU's theatre program there was interest in Viewpoints that was not being satisfied through our course content so I used the experience I had gained through PETE and partnered with a professor who had trained with the SITI company to create a viewpoints workshop. This workshop met weekly and involved those in the theatre program and those outside the major. I created a lesson plan, led each class, and assigned readings from the Viewpoints Book.
Senior Honors Thesis
When creating my honors thesis, School, I did six monthes of research on the topic the role of liberal arts institutions in the United States before I cast my four person ensemble. Once my ensemble was cast, I had to distill the information down into a lesson plan and simultaneously teach them about the topic while teaching them how to devise theatre about the topic.
Assistant Teaching Experimental
I was the Teacher's Assistant for the experimental theatre course at James Madison University. I read material along with the students, helped the students comprehend the theories the class covered, advised in the creation of short pieces based on these theories, and assisted in facilitating the creation of an original devised piece called It's All Coming Back.

Lifeguard
As a lifeguard for the city of Seattle, it was part of my duties to teach swim lessons. I created my own lesson plans based off of techniques shown to me by my employer and peers. I taught lessons to ages 4-65 individually or in groups that ranged from 3-10 students. Experience level ranged from beginning to moderate.
KUMON Tutor
I worked in a KUMON tutoring center, grading students workbooks and helping them understand their mistakes when they got problems wrong. Students were primarily elementary and middle schoolers.
